In this project, I was given the scenario of a (fictional) regional recreational club requesting website promotional assistance to gain members and sponsors. This fictional club want to host events, offer lessons, and rent/sell merch.

I had to create a brand and a website while accomplishing the objectives:

Using a "fig jam" within Figma as an open discussion as a brainstorming method
to identify potential ideas for clubs.

Thinking outside the box (or the "Squarespace".) Use a website design prototyping
           tool instead.

Using Adobe Illustrator to create a "word mark."

           Using Figma prototyping tools.

Looking at website templates and examples and using a template as a sizing guide.

           Thinking"offline." Create "online."
I found that designing in Figma was a very two-dimensional process. Like finding a good layout for a 2D piece, I had to be aware of principles like overlapping, cropping, negative space, and scale. Finding the perfect balance was sometimes difficult, but my prior knowledge in 2D design helped me along the way.

As well, photography came into play. Choosing interesting and eye-catching photos were a major part of this project. I used my photogrpahy knowledge to gauge whether a pitcure was good enough to use or not. How was the quality, the lighting, was the picture composed in an interesting way or was it just shot head-on? These were all things I had to consider during this project.
I chose this sport because my family and I like to play it. My grandfather is Italian, meaning we are too, and its a fun way to connect with our heritage. Many summer afternoons have been spent playing bocce ball. Its fairly simple. You have to throw your ball closest to the pallino and whoever is the closest wins that round and gets points. The highest score after a certain number of rounds wins. I didn't have to conduct too much research about the game itself. I more researched what kinds of bocce organizations there are and what they branded themselves like. I used Google for that. For pictures, I used Google images, Unsplash, and Pexels. I got alot of photos of the balls from companies selling them.
